Stage is Set for Rivalry Showdown

After a memorable Senior Night celebration, the Falcons quickly shifted their focus to closing out the regular season strong. The final matchup brought La Costa Canyon to Ed Burke Stadium, a team widely known for its high level of play and relentless pace.

The JV squad faced a tough challenge against an LCC team capable of competing at the varsity level. Despite the final score of 23 to 3, the game served as a valuable learning experience, showing exactly what it takes to compete with the top-ranked programs in San Diego. Growth doesn’t always show up on the scoreboard, and this one will fuel the fire moving forward.

Varsity came out ready to battle and proved it early. The Falcons matched LCC stride for stride in the first quarter, locking things up at 2 to 2 and setting the tone for a competitive night. As the game wore on, the pace and physicality began to take a toll, and La Costa Canyon slowly created separation. Even so, the Falcons never backed down, fighting through to an 18 to 11 finish in a game that showed both grit and heart from start to finish.

More importantly, the effort paid off where it matters most. The Falcons secured their place in the Open Division and head into the playoffs as the 5th seed.

Now the real fun begins.

Thursday night brings a familiar and heated matchup as the Falcons face nearby rival Cathedral Catholic in the first round. It’s everything you want in playoff lacrosse: high stakes, local pride, and a team ready to prove they belong.

Buckle up! This one’s going to be fun!
