As the sun set on another season of Torrey Pines Girls Lacrosse, both Varsity and JV closed out their campaigns with a mix of grit, gratitude, and a few tears in their eye black.
Varsity Ends on a High Note
Under the Friday night lights, the Varsity Falcons delivered a statement win, taking down the Del Norte Nighthawks 20-9 in their final game of the season. From the opening whistle, Torrey Pines played with purpose, moving the ball crisply and finding the back of the net with ease. The offense was on fire, and the defense held strong—classic Falcons lacrosse at its finest.
But the scoreboard only told part of the story. For the seniors, it was a night charged with emotion. Each pass, each goal, each cheer from the sideline was a reminder that this team—this family—was nearing its final chapter together. With hugs, laughter, and a few well-earned tears, the seniors said goodbye not just to a season, but to a journey. And what a journey it’s been. With a final record of 8-11, the Falcons finished strong, proving their heart and hustle all the way to the last horn.
JV: Bonfire and Battle
The JV team kicked off their final week in quintessential California style: dinner around a beach fire pit, hosted by the Rogers family. With the waves crashing in the background and a golden sunset painting the sky, the team shared stories, laughs, and memories that will stick longer than sand in cleats. It was the perfect setting to reflect on a season of growth and camaraderie.
But the next day, the Falcons ran into a Nighthawk wall. Del Norte’s goalie was practically levitating—saving shots left and right and making it tough for the Falcons to find the net. Despite the offensive grind, the JV squad battled to the very end, narrowly falling 7-8 in a hard-fought contest.
Still, with a final record of 11-4, the JV Falcons should hold their heads high. It’s no small feat for a group with a wide range of experience to come together, compete, and win consistently. They’ve laid the foundation for future success, and you can bet they’ll be back, faster, stronger, and hungrier than ever.
Looking Ahead
With summer on the horizon and sticks soon to be swapped for surfboards, the Falcons close out the 2025 season proud of their accomplishments and already dreaming of what’s next. From the seniors moving on to new adventures, to the rising players gearing up for the future, the legacy of Torrey Pines Girls Lacrosse continues to fly high.
