After a grueling stretch and a string of tough matchups, the varsity lacrosse team showed grit, growth, and a spark of momentum as they played two games in just three days.
Saturday saw the Falcons welcome Sacred Heart Prep to Falcon Field for a spirited battle. The game stayed tight from the first draw to the final whistle, with both teams trading goals in a high-energy offensive duel. Despite falling short 12-15, the Falcons displayed noticeable improvement across the board. Their cohesion on offense and tenacity on defense signaled a team on the verge of a breakthrough.
That breakthrough came quickly.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Falcons hosted the Oak Ridge Trojans from El Dorado Hills—and this time, the Falcons flipped the script. With smart adjustments from Coach Kaitlin and a hungry squad eager to turn the tide, Torrey emerged victorious, 11-8. The win snapped a five-game losing streak and pushed the Falcons’ season record to 5-7.
“This team has been working hard, and they’ve made changes that are starting to click,” Falcon fans said after the game. “They earned this win.”
With seven games left on the schedule—and arguably the toughest stretch of the season still ahead—the Falcons are finding their form at just the right time.
