It was a busy and successful week for the Falcons as both the Varsity and JV squads took the field twice, earning four impressive wins while showing resilience, teamwork, and steady improvement.
The week kicked off Monday night at Ed Burke Stadium, where Torrey Pines hosted Scripps Ranch High School. The JV team set the tone early with a strong 12–7 victory. It was a competitive matchup throughout, but the Falcons stayed composed and executed well, persevering to come away with a solid win.
Varsity followed under the lights and delivered another Falcons victory, defeating Scripps Ranch 14–11. Torrey Pines came out firing in the first half, building a comfortable lead with sharp offensive play and strong ball movement. The second half brought a new challenge as yellow cards began to pile up, eventually reaching the four-card limit. That forced the Falcons to play the entire fourth quarter a player down. Scripps Ranch attempted to take advantage and pushed back late, closing the gap to within three goals. But a determined Torrey Pines defense held firm, protecting the lead and sealing the win.

Both teams returned to Ed Burke Stadium Thursday night to face Foothill High School, who made the trip down from Orange County. After both Falcons teams fell to Foothill last season, the motivation to defend home turf was high.
The JV team rose to the challenge first, earning a convincing 13–8 win over the Foothill Knights. The Falcons played with energy and confidence from start to finish, with players and coaches stepping up across the field. The final whistle brought plenty of smiles, high-fives, and the satisfaction of defending the home field.
Varsity followed with another strong performance, defeating Foothill 10–6. The Falcons jumped out quickly, scoring six goals in the first half and adding four more in the second to maintain control of the game. Senior captains Cathy Tonelli and Reese Rohrbach led the way offensively, helping drive a balanced and confident attack.
But the biggest highlight of the night came in front of the Falcons net. Sophomore goalie Siena Geringer delivered the best performance of her rookie season, allowing just six goals while recording an incredible 14 saves! It was a standout effort between the pipes and a key reason the Falcons secured the win.
With every game, the Falcons continue to improve and build momentum. After a demanding week, the team now looks forward to a few well-earned days of rest and recovery before returning to action.
The next matchup comes Tuesday, March 17, when Torrey Pines takes on La Jolla High School.
