This week brought fierce competition for both the Varsity and JV teams at Torrey Pines, with valuable lessons and moments of resilience on full display.
Varsity Shows Heart Against San Ramon Valley
On Monday night at Ed Burke Stadium, the Varsity squad faced off against a talented San Ramon Valley team that traveled down from Danville, California. Despite a strong effort and flashes of sharp play, the Falcons came up short, falling 12–7.
While the final score didn’t go their way, the Falcons showed determination and fight throughout the contest. The team has been putting in extra work at practice, and their commitment to improvement is evident. Each game is another opportunity to grow, and this one will serve as fuel as they prepare for what’s next.
That next challenge comes this Saturday, right back at home, as the Falcons welcome Sacred Heart Prep from Atherton, CA. With continued focus and the support of the home crowd at Ed Burke Stadium, the team is eager to get back on track.
JV Faces a Tough Test at LCC
On Wednesday night, the JV team returned from spring break and headed to La Costa Canyon to face one of San Diego’s top squads. The Mavericks brought their A-game, handing Torrey Pines its first loss of the season, 15–6.
It was a tough outing, but not without positives. The Falcons battled hard and gained valuable experience against a high-level opponent—exactly the kind of test that makes teams better in the long run.
With a few practices ahead and lessons in hand, the JV team will regroup and refocus for their next game against San Marcos High School next Tuesday. Expect a renewed spark and a strong response from this resilient group.
